Oats and Coats | Nourishing Bodies, Warming Hearts
Serving hot meals and winter essentials to those in need.
What is Oats and Coats?
Oats and Coats is an initiative under Benevolent Bridges that provides nourishment and warmth to individuals and families facing hardship. We host events where we serve hot, hearty oatmeal and distribute donated winter hats, gloves, scarves, and coats to ensure our unsheltered neighbors and families in need stay fed, warm, and cared for.
Making a Tangible Difference
• 🥣 Hot Meals to be Served: 1,000+ bowls of oatmeal
• 🧥 Winter Essentials to be Distributed: Hats, gloves, scarves, and coats
• ❤️ Communities Supported: Charlotte and beyond
With the support of our volunteers, donors, and community partners, we’re providing comfort and relief to those facing cold winters and empty tables. Together, we can serve more hot meals and deliver even more warmth.

In the Cold, Together
Author Unknown
The air bites sharper when alone,
each step a weight, each breath a cloud,
and the world seems vast, unfeeling.
But beside you, the cold softens.
Our feet press prints side by side,
melting the frost just enough
to remind us we are here
together.
Your coat brushes mine,
your quiet presence a fire unseen,
and suddenly, the wind is a whisper,
the snow, less fierce.
We walk, not to arrive,
but because being here
with you
makes winter feel
almost like spring.
